Senior Evaluator in Fragile and Conflict-affected States

We have a very strong track record in major institutional and thematic evaluations for a wide range of development agencies, particularly working in fragile and conflict-affected states. Our cross-sectoral skills base in evaluation, technical support and programme design has enabled us to tackle work in a wide range of sectors, including: conflict prevention, peacebuilding, anti-corruption, human rights, and social development.

We are seeking a senior evaluation professional with a demonstrated background of working in fragile and conflict-affected states to join us on a permanent and full-time basis. You will be responsible for leading ITAD’s Fragile States Theme Group, winning and implementing assignments for a diverse range of clients in thematic areas that build on and expand ITAD’s existing portfolio in working in fragile environments.

You will be an evaluation specialist with proven expertise and experience in designing, managing and leading complex evaluations in fragile and conflict-affected environments; as well as different approaches to monitoring and evaluation in fragile situations, with proven expertise in data collection and analysis. You will also have strong knowledge and practical experience of conflict analysis tools, international support for state-building and peace-building, and the international conflict, security and justice architecture.

Additional skills in conducting political economy analyses in fragile situations, security and justice sector reform, and monitoring and evaluating programmes to address violence against women and girls (VAWG) would be an advantage.

You will be fluent in written and spoken English and have strong report-writing and presentation skills. Fluency in French and/or one or more of the other UN languages would be an advantage.

You will also have a post-graduate degree in an applied development field, preferably with an emphasis on conflict, peacebuilding or statebuilding, and a minimum of 10 years’ relevant work experience.

You must have permanent residence status (indefinite leave to remain) in the UK, and be willing to relocate to the Brighton area.
